The Ijaw Publishers’ Forum (IPF) has paid a familiarisation visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Ijaw Affairs, Bayelsa State, HRM (Barr.) Godspower Oporomor, the Pere of Kerebiri Mein-Kingdom, and High Chief (Dr.) Alabo Nengi James OON, the National Vice President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) Worldwide, ahead of its media conference.
The maiden Ijaw Media Conference which has as its theme, ‘Advancing the Quest for Economic Freedom in a Sieged Nation.’ is scheduled to hold December 11, 2024 in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Speaking during the visit, the IPF team lead and vice president of the organization. Mr Oyinbi Onduku, appreciated the notable Ijaw leaders for the warm gesture and reception.
He said that the Forum’s visit to the INC Vice President and the Commissioner was hinged on their leadership role and contribution as critical stakeholders in advancing the affairs of the Ijaw Nation.
Speaking further, the IPF said the first Ijaw media conference promises to be expository, full of insight and backed with practical sessions design to indepthly discuss the major challenges bedeviling development in Ijaw land and the possible solutions.
In his response, the Commissioner for Ijaw National Affairs, HRM. (Barr.) Godspower Oporomor, the Pere of Kerebiri Mein-Kingdom, advised the Ijaw publishers to be impartial in their information dissemination and activities, adding that he was pleased that the body came to identify with him and that the government of the state will be adequately represented at the conference.

Also reacting, the National Vice President of INC Worldwide, Chief Nengi James, assured the delegation that he will be in attendance at the media conference.
“Ijaw issues are my primary priority, the Ijaw Nation will succeed in whatever it does, no matter what, so long Ijaw is acknowledged,” the leader was quoted as saying.
