The forthcoming Ijaw media conference 2024 has received a major boost following the ongoing stakeholders engagement by the organisers of the event, the Ijaw Publishers’ Forum (IPF).
The Central Working Committee visited the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Alfred Kemepado, at his office on Tuesday.
The commissioner pledged to support and participate in the event and also applauded the objectives behind the establishment of the Ijaw Publishers’ Forum.
Kemepado, who was a scribe of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) said that it is only Ijaw professionals that can write the Ijaw story better than others.
He further stated that any initiative that tends to promote the Ijaw nation would receive support from critical stakeholders and leaders of the state.
IPF’S visit was part of the critical stakeholders engagement of the media forum ahead of the forthcoming conference.
The maiden media conference is scheduled to be held on December 11, 2024, in Yenagoa, capital of Bayelsa State.

With the theme “Advancing the Quest for Economic/Political Freedom in a Siege Nation,” the conference seeks to bring together leaders and stakeholders to explore innovative solutions for the economic growth of Ijaw nation and the Niger Delta region at large.
Also, the event promises to foster economic discourse and empower indigenous media practitioners.
The IPF delegation which was led by its Central Working Committee chairman, Comrade Ozobo Austin, composed of MMD Tamsokunbiri CEO of Kpakam Tv, committee member, Mr Sunday Ayemofaye, CEO, Ogulagha Vanguard/Committee Secretary and Mr Benjamin Tamaradoubra, CEO of Ijaw Heritage Television, committee member.
While seeking for partnership and synergy with the youth ministry, the delegation also congratulated the youth commissioner on his recent appointment.
