The Ijaw Publishers Forum (IPF) has condoled with Chief Sylvester Oromoni, the Executive Chairman of Warri South-West Local Government Council in Delta State, over the demise of his wife, Mrs Rosemary Oromoni.

The Ijaw Publishers delivered their condolence when an IPF delegation, led by its President, Comrade Ozobo Austin, paid a condolence visit to Chief Oromoni on Monday, December 2, 2024.

In the condolence visit, the Forum prayed God to comfort the bereaved Oromoni and his family at such a difficult and emotional time.

Chief Oromoni, who thanked the IPF delegation for the visit, revealed that the emotional toll of losing her son, Sylvester Jnr, few years ago deeply affected his wife’s health.

He said, “Despite medical care and the unwavering support from her family, she struggled to recover. The death of our son, Sylvester Oromoni Jnr, really had a lasting effect on her.”

It would be recalled that the late Mrs Oromoni passed away following a battle with intermittent blood pressure-related health issues on Monday, November 25, 2024.

Mrs Oromoni’s death comes just over seven months after a special court in Lagos State ruled against the family in April that the death of their 12-year-old son and student of Dowen College, Lekki, was caused by the negligence of his parent and doctor.

Oromoni Jnr had died on November 30, 2021 with his death linked to a bully and an alleged deadly chemical he was forced to consume at school.

According to the Oromoni family, burial arrangements for the late Mrs. Oromoni will be announced to the public at a later date.
