Evah Secures Ernest lkoli Personality Merit Award, Dedicate it to N’Delta Mothers 

Foremost Nigerian human and environmental rights activist, Comrade Joseph Evah, the National Coordinator ljaw Monitoring Group (IMG) has bagged the prestigious Ernest lkoli Personality Award of Excellence 2024.

The presentation of the award was done by Comrade Austin Ozobo, the National President, ljaw Publishers Forum (lPF) who was represented by the Vice President, Oyinbi Onduku on Saturday at the Ijaw Monitoring Group office in Lagos State.

Adducing reasons for the award, Mr. Onduku said Joseph Evah earned the excellence award on account of his outstanding contributions towards amplifying the Niger Delta quest for economic, political and environmental justice over the years.

He noted that Evah has done well in protecting, projecting and promoting the ljaw nation through advocacy, humanitarian services, among others.

“The ljaw Publishers Forum (lPF) and the ljaw nation are proud to have a person like Evah and we pray God to give him good health, strength, long life and prosperity to continue to enjoy the fruits of his hard labour and sacrifices for the ljaw people in particular, and Niger Delta at large.”

Receiving the prestigious award, Evah expressed gratitude to God and the IPF for the honour and recognition.

He stressed that the struggle for better ljaw nation cannot be undermined.

He further dedicated the award to the mothers in the Niger Delta for their selfless sacrifices in praying for the South-South governors to do better.

Evah seized the opportunity to call on the Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri to resolve the lingering issue with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) so as to get the ongoing Niger Delta University (NDU) strike called off and allow students return back to school.
