The Ijaw Publishers’ Forum (IPF) has acknowledged High Chief Benjamin Ekeremor, a Niger Delta ex-agitator and philanthropist, for his profound impact, leadership and humanitarian contributions to the Ijaw society and Niger Delta region.
Receiving the Appreciation Award Plaque on Friday during the Benja Light Academy inter-house sports competition in Okosu-ama community, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Ekeremor was honoured with a thunderous standing ovation by indigenes Okosu-ama in appreciation of his transformative community development initiatives, especially the establishment of Benja Light Academy, a tuition-free nursery and primary school, support for the underprivileged, as well as the transformation of Okosu-ama from a small settlement to an emerging town.
The National President of IPF, Comrade Ozobo Austin, while delivering the Award plague, highlighted that Chief Ekeremor’s exceptional track record in the Niger Delta emancipation movement and his dedication to humanitarian causes made him more than deserving of the recognition. Added that his selfless commitment and actions are encouraging and worthy of emulation.
“High Chief Benjamin Ekeremor has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the development of the Niger Delta. This award is a token of appreciation for his contributions, and he truly deserves even greater recognition,” Ozobo remarked.

High Chief Benjamin Ekeremor in his heartfelt and humble response to the prestigious recognition done him, first wholeheartedly dedicated the award to his late father, Chief Ekeremor for passing on values that have continued to guide him. He expressed deep gratitude to the Ijaw Publishers’ Forum for acknowledging his little efforts and contributions at making the world a better place. Chief Benjamin asserted that the recognition would spur him to serve the greater good of the Ijaw and Niger Delta society and humanity.
The occasion was witnessed by prominent IPF members, including Vice President Mr. Oyinbi Onduku, Secretary Mr. Tare Magei, Assistant Secretary Dr. Perez Bibakefie, Elder Opukeme Cletus, Pastor Arex Akemotubo, Mr. Tam Okumbiri, Mr. Preye Ekpegha, and Mr. Tamaradoubra Benjamin, among others.
