The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro, has declared that the Niger Delta will rally exclusively behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the ‘Stream 1’ Batch 3, three-day Strategic Leadership, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Mediation Training organised by PAP in collaboration with the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja, on Friday, Otuaro said the President had proven himself a true friend of the Niger Delta.
He commended President Tinubu’s “genuine intentions” for the region, highlighting his commitment to maintaining peace, driving development, and boosting socio-economic growth under the Renewed Hope Agenda. According to Otuaro, these efforts have earned the confidence and loyalty of the people.
“We are sure that President Tinubu has the best agenda for the country and indeed the Niger Delta, and he is the only candidate that we will all support,” he said. “Supporting him is the right thing to do. Anywhere the President goes, we go. The Niger Delta is our agenda, and we know what is working for us.”
The PAP boss also praised the President’s unprecedented support for the Amnesty Programme, particularly his approval of a budget increase to expand opportunities in formal education, vocational training, and post-training empowerment schemes for ex-agitators and other beneficiaries.
Otuaro stressed that Tinubu’s re-election would consolidate on the gains made in the last two years, noting that the administration had shown political will and dedication to the welfare of the region.
He, however, warned the people of the Niger Delta to be vigilant against political manipulators ahead of the 2027 polls, urging them to reject divisive tactics and remain united for the greater good.
“Though the elections are still months away, we must be aware of desperate politicians out with an agenda of mischief,” Otuaro cautioned. “Let’s not allow anyone to use us against ourselves or the President’s agenda. We are too focused to be distracted.”
The PAP helmsman concluded by calling for unity, peace, and a collective push to sustain the Renewed Hope Agenda, laying a stronger foundation for the future of the Niger Delta.
