IPF to Inaugurate New Leadership February 26 in Delta

The Ijaw Publishers’ Forum (IPF) has announced plans to inaugurate its newly elected executive on February 26 in Delta State, marking a new chapter in the organisation’s leadership and advocacy drive.

The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to hold at Chief Tunde’s Playground, Barracks Junction, NPA, Warri, and is expected to attract prominent Ijaw leaders, critical stakeholders, media practitioners and members of the Forum, underscoring the significance of the leadership transition.

In a statement issued ahead of the event, the Forum reiterated that it was established to amplify the voice of the marginalised Ijaw nation and the wider Niger Delta region. It noted that since its inception, IPF has remained committed to the defence of press freedom and the protection of journalists’ rights.

The statement further outlined the Forum’s core focus areas to include advocacy for resource control, self-determination and the promotion of accurate, balanced and responsible storytelling around issues affecting the Ijaw people.

According to the organisers, the incoming leadership is poised to consolidate on existing achievements and reposition the Forum for greater impact over the next two years.

The Forum extended an invitation to members of the public to attend and witness the inauguration ceremony.
