Comrade Joseph Evah, leader of the Ijaw Monitoring Group (IMG), has launched a deworming program aimed at improving children’s health and wellbeing in the Oporoza community, located in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.

This initiative marks a key effort to address child health issues in the Niger Delta.

According to information made available to Ijaw Heritage Television, the Program is scheduled to hold November 14, 2024 in Oporoza, the traditional headquarters of the Gbaramatu Kingdom.

The deworming program aims to mitigate health challenges faced by children in the area, with a particular focus on reducing the prevalence of intestinal worms, a common issue that can lead to conditions such as malnutrition and anemia.

The effort is part of a larger health and development campaign in the region.

Evah, collaborating with the National Ijaw Female Students’ Association, has been active in promoting various initiatives in the Niger Delta, including peacebuilding, economic development, and healthcare improvements.

This deworming program underscores the dedication of both Evah and NAIFS to enhancing the quality of life for residents of the Niger Delta.
