Activist Ozobo Applauds Otuaro for Sponsoring Over 142 Students for Postgraduate Studies Abroad and in Nigerian Universities

Prominent Niger Delta activist, Comrade Ozobo Austin, widely known as the “King of the Dragons”, has lauded Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), for sponsoring over 142 beneficiaries to pursue postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom.

Ozobo commended Dr. Otuaro for revitalizing the PAP, which he said had been severely mismanaged by previous administrations. He called on all critical stakeholders across the Niger Delta to support Dr. Otuaro’s ongoing reforms and initiatives within the programme.

Describing Dr. Otuaro as a detribalised, approachable, and highly effective leader, Ozobo emphasized that his administration has brought renewed hope and direction to PAP. He urged all beneficiaries, youth leaders, and stakeholders in the region to rally behind the Administrator to ensure continued progress.

Ozobo also encouraged individuals with genuine concerns or challenges regarding the programme to seek resolution through the proper channels, assuring them that Dr. Otuaro remains committed to addressing all legitimate issues.

Nicknamed the “Senior Advocate of the Niger Delta Oppressed People,” Ozobo further urged Dr. Otuaro to remain focused and not be distracted by negative campaigns or misinformation propagated by detractors. He assured the Administrator of the unwavering support of peace-loving Niger Delta citizens.

In his congratulatory message to the selected scholarship beneficiaries, Ozobo urged them to seize the opportunity to build their future, emphasizing the importance of maintaining discipline and avoiding any actions that could lead to their repatriation from the UK.

It will be recalled that Dr. Otuaro previously highlighted that the students were enrolled in competitive, professional courses designed to support the socio-economic development of the Niger Delta; an effort aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The initiative is part of a broader mission to close the region’s human capital development gap.

During the official send-off event, the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to PAP for the opportunity and pledged to be worthy ambassadors of their families, communities, and the Niger Delta at large. Key PAP officials, including Technical Assistant Edgar Daniel and Education Department Head Dr. Charles Ariye, addressed the students on topics such as cultural adaptation, academic expectations, and security matters related to studying abroad.

Additionally, PAP provided laptops to each scholarship recipient to aid their academic and research activities while overseas.

Dr. Otuaro’s commitment to human capital development through the Presidential Amnesty Programme is being widely praised, with many including activist Ozobo, acknowledging the far-reaching positive impact of his leadership on the Niger Delta region’s future.
