The Ijaw Publishers Forum (IPF) has congratulated Sheriff Mulade on his emergence as National Treasurer of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) following the April 13, 2026 national elections.
In a statement signed by IPF President, Comrade Ozobo Austin, on Tuesday, the forum described Mulade’s victory as well-deserved and reflective of his longstanding commitment to the peace, unity and development of the Ijaw nation.
Mulade, who is also the National President of the Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), clinched the treasurer position in a keenly contested election that attracted wide attention across the Niger Delta.
The forum noted that his track record as a respected Ijaw leader and peace advocate has earned him broad recognition, stressing that his emergence comes at a critical time when the INC requires experienced and visionary leadership.
IPF expressed confidence in his ability to effectively manage the financial affairs of the congress, emphasising that his reputation for accountability, transparency and prudent resource management would positively impact the organisation.
“Your emergence is not only a personal achievement but also a victory for all who believe in credible leadership and sustainable development in Ijawland,” the statement read.
The forum urged Mulade to remain steadfast in his commitment to service and to deploy his new office to advance the welfare and collective interests of Ijaw communities.
IPF also called on stakeholders to rally behind the new INC leadership to further strengthen the organisation and enhance its role in promoting the socio-cultural and political aspirations of the Ijaw people.
Mulade’s emergence, the forum added, marks a significant milestone in the affairs of the congress, with many expressing optimism about the future direction of the INC under its new leadership.
The forum reiterated its congratulations and wished him a successful and impactful tenure in office.
