Youths of Ogbia Kingdom in Bayelsa State led by the President of the Ogbia Brotherhood Youth Council (OBYC), Comrade Johnny S. Jonathan, on Monday 16 September, 2024 paid a scheduled visit / courtesy call on Chief Samuel Ogbuku, MD/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), at his hometown, Ayakoro Community, Ogbia Local Government Area.
The objective of the visit, Ijaw Heritage Television gathered, was to honour Chief Ogbuku’s outstanding leadership, community building and developmental strides, and formally celebrate the NDDC boss on the occasion of his 49th birthday.
In his remarks, the OBYC President Comrade Johnny S. Jonathan, commended Chief Ogbuku for identifying, engaging and prioritizing community development needs. He emphasized the significant role Ogbuku played to ensure the NDDC co-sponsored the Chief Melford Okilo 16th Memorial in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
According to Johnny, both participants and non-participants adjudged the event as the best memorial ever organized since the demise of the iconic leader 16 years ago.
“Chief Samuel Ogbuku is empowering people and developing our communities, thereby writing his name in gold, and the only way to appreciate and celebrate him for his innovative leadership and developmental strides is to continually support him.
“We pray God Almighty to grant him sound health, unwavering strength, and more wisdom to always remain at the top of the charts,” he said.
Highpoint of the visit, was the presentation of a Badge of Honour and gifting of other items including a beautiful photo portrait, traditional Don, foreign walking sticks and original Royal London Hats to Chief Ogbuku.
