DELTA: Orodje of Okpe Receives Otuaro, Lauds PAP Administrator’s Recognition of Traditional Rulers

The Orodje of Okpe in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Major General Felix Mujakperuo (rtd), CFR, Orhue 1, has played host to the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, in the Niger Delta region, High Chief Dr. Dennis Otuaro, in his palace residence.

Dr. Otuaro made the courtesy call on the Orodje of Okpe to intimate him on the ongoing stakeholder engagement efforts to foster peace and security in the region on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

Recall that the Administrator of the PAP on Monday had met with various traditional rulers at The KFT Place in Warri to seek for their support in his attempt to deepen the peace process in the region.

The PAP Boss during the visit to the Orodje briefed the monarch on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to implementing reforms and developing the region, emphasising the crucial role that traditional institutions play in building sustainable peace and security.

Dr. Otuaro assured the Orodje of Okpe that President Tinubu is dedicated to maintaining peace and security in the Niger Delta, and is not taking the current stability experienced in the region, for granted.

The Orodje of Okpe, in his response, thanked Dr. Otuaro for recognizing the important place of traditional institutions and recognizing them as critical stakeholders.

His Majesty pledged his support and advised the PA BOSS to continue in his innovative leadership style to ensure the region’s development and peace.

The meeting with traditional rulers by the Administrator is an expanded stakeholders’ meeting that will see the amnesty office engage with traditional rulers, opinion leaders, women groups, youth bodies, community leaders, elders and camp leaders in order to deepen and sustain the existing peace in the region.
