No fewer than 20 groups in the Niger Delta region have condemned a plot reportedly hatched to blackmail the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro, and former Niger Delta agitator, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo.

According to the groups, the plot is being propagated by one Jude Gbaboyor, secretary and ally to former agitator Ben Ebikabowei, alias Boyloaf.

The groups, which described Gbaboyor as an enemy of the Niger Delta, alleged that he was sacked from the PAP office by a former PAP interim administrator over misconduct.

The stance was contained in a statement jointly signed by its leaders: Elder Emury Bekenawei, Comrade Peter Luke, Mr. Cletus Itari, Comrade Efe Tam, Comrade God’spower Joseph, Chief Obonk Stanley, Chief Catalyst Don Pedro, and Comrade Gbugbemi Tunde.

Others include Comrade Tamaralaye Android, Comrade Joseph Metal, Comrade Daniel Ekio, Comrade Fire Ebi, and Comrade Thunder Lafia.

They urged stakeholders in the Niger Delta to call Gbaboyor to order to avoid bad blood among leaders in the region.

The groups, which exonerated Otuaro from the blackmail allegedly peddled by Gbaboyor using secret documents, revealed that the documents were posted and published by former agitator Henry Okah on his Facebook page in 2020.

The coalition, while noting that Gbaboyor’s attack is premised on the fact that Otuaro refused to allow himself to be manipulated by him, added that the public should disregard all lies peddled against the PAP administrator.

“However, when a proper investigation was launched by newsmen to unravel the true position of the alleged classified document, our investigation revealed that Henry Okah, who is a member of the said Meinbutu Voice Facebook page, posted the alleged classified document in the group himself in 2020.

“This convincing investigation showed that the said document was posted in the public space long before Otuaro’s recent appointment as administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP),” the statement reads.

The groups concluded that Gbaboyor’s accusations are baseless, unfounded, mischievous, barbaric, null, and void, stressing that he only displayed his ignorance in the public space.

They further stated that a document that had been in the public space for about four years can no longer be described as classified, noting that only someone like Gbaboyor would make unnecessary noise about it.

Stressing further, the groups said Tompolo is the face of the Niger Delta emancipation struggle, and only someone like Gbaboyor would speak ill of him to seek cheap attention.

While calling on Boyloaf to call Gbaboyor to order, the groups noted that Otuaro’s reforms are being felt in every nook and cranny of the Niger Delta, stating that only enemies whose manipulative tendencies were curtailed are angry with him.
