The Ijaw Publishers’ Forum (IPF) has described Delta-born billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Engr. Matthew Tonlagha, as a special gift from God to the Ijaw nation and the Niger Delta, as he clocks 50 years.
The Forum joined family, friends and well-wishers across the globe to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the renowned entrepreneur, hailing him as a pathfinder and beacon of hope whose contributions to the development of the Ijaw nation and the Niger Delta are immeasurable.
In a statement jointly signed by its National President, Comrade Ozobo Austin, and National Spokesman, Comrade Ezekiel Daniel, on Sunday, IPF said Engr. Tonlagha has distinguished himself through his unwavering commitment to public service, community development, peace-building and nation-building.
The statement read in part: “Engr. Matthew Tonlagha is a special gift from God to the Ijaw nation. He has remained a beacon of hope and inspiration to many. His dedication to peace, security and development in the Niger Delta has earned him widespread respect and admiration across the region.”
IPF further commended Tonlagha for his exceptional leadership roles in promoting peace and stability in the Niger Delta, particularly during periods of heightened tension.
According to the Forum: “As the intellectual arm of the Ijaw struggle for self-determination, we celebrate Engr. Tonlagha for the exceptional roles he has played in advancing peace, security and development in the Niger Delta. We cannot quickly forget how he helped to chart the path of peace alongside other leaders when the region was boiling.”
The Forum expressed deep appreciation for his selfless service and enduring commitment to the wellbeing of the people of the Niger Delta.
“We respect him, we celebrate him and we express our unreserved gratitude to him. We wish him many more years of impactful service, joy and fulfillment. We pray that God grants him good health, wisdom and continued success in all his endeavours,” the statement added.
IPF therefore congratulated Engr. Tonlagha on his Golden Jubilee and wished him greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
