APC Sagbama Leader Empowers Members in Fresh Mega-Initiative, Assures of More

Hon. Michael Bless Olomu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa as part of his commitment to grassroots development and efforts at giving back to party faithfuls in the local government area, has empowered over two(2) hundred party faithfuls with motorcycles, mini buses, tricycles(keke), deep freezers, generators, farm tricycles and pesticide sprayers worth millions of naira.

At the event held in conjunction with the All Progressives Congress (APC) Sagbama, where the various items were distributed, Hon. Michael Bless Olomu articulated during his opening speech that the initiative is aimed at easing the burden of economic challenges on party members as well as supporting small-scale traders.

Olomu, a Sagbama ward 5 grassroot politician and former House of Representatives candidate stated that the APC is committed to empowering its loyal members, noting that the initiative is groundbreaking and has never been experienced in the history of Bayelsa State, Sagbama Local Government and in party politics since 1999.

He however hinted that the initiative is in phases and the second phase empowerment for party faithfuls will be unveiled soon to provide another set of items and tools to promote self-reliance, reduce poverty, and enhance grassroots development.

“This day will be a blessing, and some of you party loyalists here will go home smiling. As you all know, the APC is renowned for changing the lives of its members. This empowerment initiative aimed at cushioning the current economic hardships and driving small-scale entrepreneurship, reducing unemployment, and enhancing grassroots development is unprecedented.”

Expressing appreciation for the continued dedication and loyalty of members, Olomu asserted that there is pay day for every loyal party faithful.

“Despite the fact that the APC is not the ruling party in the state, some members have shown courage, high integrity and steadfastness towards the party’s survival in the local government area, and that is what today’s programme is purposed for; to reward loyalty,” he added.

Speaking shortly after dedicating the empowerment items, Hon. Patrick Akade, a notable figure of the APC in Sagbama local government area commended Michael Olomu for the initiative and foresight, he lauded the impact of the empowerment program, saying it will go a long way to put smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries.

“Only the APC can truly empower its members in this manner, and this is a testament to that fact. I am delighted to be part of this great initiative designed to bring hope to our people.”

In his remark, Barr. Francis Kolokolo applauded leaders of the APC in Sagbama, namely Hon. Michael Bless Olomu, Patrick Akade, as well as himself for being a great pillar of support to members of the party through different empowerment programmes.

“Today, we have demonstrated what it means to truly impact people and reward loyalty. God has blessed us, and we are using that to bless others.

“No doubt this empowerment initiative will go a long way to put smiles on the faces of our people, and we thank God for the enablement to provide them. This is the hallmark of the APC,” he said.

The beneficiaries profusely appreciated their leaders in Sagbama and the APC in general for coming to their aid by giving them items to change their livelihood.

One of the beneficiaries, Ebiakpo Tobi from ward seven, said: “This will change everything for me. A tricycle is an asset. I will utilise it well to better myself and provide food for my family.

A total of 122 items comprising
4 Mini buses, 14 Tricycles(keke), 10 Sewing machines, 22 Motorcycles (okada), 20 Grinding machines, 21 Sumec generators, 20 Deep freezers, 11 Spraying machines for farmers and other items were distributed.

The occasion drew attendance from APC Sagbama local government executives and members from across various wards, who showed strong support for the empowerment initiative.
