100,000 DIGITAL HOMES SET FOR SOUTHEAST, DELTA STATE AS HOUSING DEAL FLAGS OFF IN ENUGU

A new chapter in regional urban development unfolded yesterday in Enugu as stakeholders officially signed and inaugurated a landmark agreement for the construction of 100,000 Digital Housing Units across the Southeast and Delta State.

The groundbreaking event, held at the Amadeo Event Centre, marked the launch of the Igbo Bu Igbo Bilie Nu Estate Project; a large-scale private sector-driven initiative aimed at addressing housing deficits, modernising living standards, and strengthening diaspora investment in home ownership.

Speaking on behalf of oil and gas magnate, Prince Arthur Eze, OFR, Chairman of Oranto/Atlas Petroleum, the Principal Attorney of Streetwise Solicitors, Dr. AA Orunkoya, Esq., represented the firm as Investment Attorney at the high-profile signing.

The project is being executed under a partnership structure led by Hand of God Construction Company in collaboration with Igboebinie Plc, with the venture expected to stretch across Enugu, Imo, Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, and Delta State.

According to project promoters, the digital estate will feature modern smart-home infrastructure, environmentally friendly designs, and integrated urban planning, ensuring that residents enjoy secure and technology-driven living spaces.

Senior government officials, including Commissioners for Lands from participating states, were present and formally endorsed the plan on behalf of their respective governments. Their presence, observers said, signaled strong regional alignment and political will backing the implementation.

Also in attendance were institutional stakeholders such as the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), the Federal Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), and other strategic partners, all of whom expressed readiness to support the financing and regulatory frameworks required for seamless execution.

The initiative is expected to open access to affordable housing for citizens in the Southeast and provide the Igbo diaspora with structured, secure opportunities to invest in home ownership back home.

With the agreement now sealed, implementation is set to begin in phases, positioning the Southeast as a potential model for large-scale digital urban housing development in Nigeria.
