Chief (Comrade) Sheriff Mulade, Founder of the Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) and National Treasurer of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), has bagged a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in International Relations from Delta State University, Abraka.

In a symbolic academic moment, his 24-year-old son, David Sheriff Mulade, also obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Mass Communication from the same university.
The duo were recognised at the institution’s 18th Convocation Ceremony for the 2024/2025 academic session held on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Reacting to the development, David, a journalist, expressed gratitude to his father for the inspiration and mentorship that shaped his academic and professional path.

He said the achievement would serve as a springboard for greater accomplishments in the media profession.

The double academic achievement has been widely celebrated as a proud and historic moment for Gbaramatu Kingdom, symbolising a strong commitment to education, leadership, and personal development. Observers describe it as a rare feat that underscores a shared passion for learning and excellence.
Chief Mulade is widely acknowledged for his advocacy in environmental justice, peacebuilding, and sustainable development across the Niger Delta. His latest academic attainment further reinforces his dedication to knowledge-driven service and community advancement.

The simultaneous success of father and son, stakeholders say, stands as a testament to discipline, excellence, and the transformative power of education for future generations.
