The emergence of Hon. Donald Ojogo as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives has been described as a validation of his political relevance, acceptability and sustained grassroots connection.
This view was expressed by the Ondo State Coordinator of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Senior High Chief Felix Idowu Asonja, in reaction to Ojogo’s victory at the party’s primary election.
In a statement issued on the development, Asonja said Ojogo’s emergence as the party’s standard bearer for the forthcoming general election underscores the confidence party members and constituents continue to repose in his leadership.
According to him, Ojogo’s success at the primaries, as he seeks re-election into the 11th House of Representatives, reflects the trust of the electorate in his capacity to provide quality representation.
He noted that Ojogo has, over time, maintained effective engagement with the grassroots, while advancing policies and initiatives targeted at improving the welfare and development of the people of the constituency.
Asonja attributed the victory to what he described as political cohesion, unity of purpose and the collective efforts of leaders, stakeholders, youths, women groups and party loyalists across Ilaje and Ese-Odo who ensured a smooth and successful primary process.
He added that the prevailing political mood in the constituency suggests growing support for continuity in representation, particularly for leaders who have demonstrated accessibility, competence and commitment to public service.
Ojogo had earlier thanked party leaders and members across the constituency for their maturity, sacrifices and dedication to peace and unity throughout the primary election.
As the general election approaches, stakeholders and supporters, according to Asonja, remain confident that the electorate will once again rally behind a candidate whose service record continues to inspire confidence at the grassroots.
