The Niger Delta Youth Council of Nigeria (NDYCN) has disowned a recent publication credited to one Mr. Becham Ufuoma, describing him as an impostor parading himself as President of the organisation.
In a statement issued by the duly recognized National President, Amb. Blessing Adogbeji, the Council said Ufuoma has never been elected, appointed, or endorsed at any level of the NDYCN structure, and therefore lacks the legitimacy to speak for Niger Delta youths.
According to the statement, NDYCN has only one constitutionally acknowledged National President, insisting that Ufuoma’s claims and public comments do not represent the position of the organisation.
Adogbeji accused the self-styled “president” of attempting to mislead the public and discredit respected regional leaders through what he described as “reckless and desperate publications.”
The Council further reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Presidential Amnesty Programme under the leadership of Chief (Dr.) Dennis Otuaro, noting that his administration has so far delivered the most peaceful, stable, and development-oriented stewardship since the programme was established.
“The hands-on engagement, transparency and developmental impact recorded under Chief Otuaro speak for themselves,” the statement added.
NDYCN warned that it will not tolerate impersonation or the creation of any parallel structure, stressing that such acts amount to fraud and an attempt to bring the organisation into disrepute.
The Council urged the public to disregard Ufuoma’s publication, stating that he has “no platform, no constituency, and no authority” to speak on behalf of Niger Delta youths.
“The NDYCN remains committed to unity, strategic engagement, and regional development, and will continue to defend and support credible leadership that delivers results,” the statement concluded.
