Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, has been announced as Chairman of the 2026 Ijaw Media Conference, according to a statement jointly signed by Chairman of the Planning Committee, Pastor Arex Akemotubo, and Secretary, Tare Magbei.
The organisers disclosed that this year’s theme, “Safeguarding Niger Delta’s Natural Resources for Future Generations,” underscores the rising call for responsible stewardship of the region’s land, water and ecosystem.
Now in its second edition, the conference is scheduled for Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the KFT Event Centre, Warri, and will commence at 10 a.m.

Renowned diplomat and former Nigerian Ambassador to the Scandinavian countries, Amb. Dr. Godknows Igali, is billed to deliver the keynote address, while former President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Engr. Udengs Eradiri, will present the lead paper. Both are expected to set the tone for robust engagements on long-term environmental protection in the Niger Delta.
The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, will attend as Special Guest of Honour, alongside an array of high-profile Guests of Honour, including:

The conference is expected to convene policymakers, community leaders, journalists and researchers to examine actionable strategies for promoting environmental responsibility across the Niger Delta.
